DENVER--Motorists who travel the I-25 Express Lanes using an EXpressToll® transponder will pay 25 percent less than those who do not have a transponder beginning March 1, 2012. Motorcycles and vehicles with more than one occupant who use the lane marked "HOV" will continue to travel free of charge. Solo drivers traveling in the lane marked "toll" will pay a surcharge if they do not have an EXpressToll account and instead rely on the License Plate Toll payment system. The License Plate Toll payment system takes a photo of a vehicle’s license plates and sends a statement to the vehicle owner’s address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
