RTD presented with the Transportation Security Administration’s “Gold Standard” Award

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) was presented the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) "Gold Standard" award for being in the top 10% of all transit agencies for the assessment called "BASE" Baseline Assessment Security Enhancements.  The award was presented by TSA personnel at the RTD Board Committee meeting on February 14.

The SWTA 32nd National Conference & Expo will be hosted by Regional Transportation District (RTD), February 12 – 15, 2012 at the Sheraton Downtown Denver, 1550 Court Place. SWTA is a regional transit association representing Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

CDOT announces new rates for drivers using EXpressToll on I-25

DENVER--Motorists who travel the I-25 Express Lanes using an EXpressToll® transponder will pay 25 percent less than those who do not have a transponder beginning March 1, 2012.  Motorcycles and vehicles with more than one occupant who use the lane marked "HOV" will continue to travel free of charge.  Solo drivers traveling in the lane marked "toll" will pay a surcharge if they do not have an EXpressToll account and instead rely on the License Plate Toll payment system. The License Plate Toll payment system takes a photo of a vehicle’s license plates and sends a statement to the vehicle owner’s address on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

DENVER, CO ­— Thursday, February 02, 2012 - With the potential of 12 inches or more of snow to fall in Denver, followed by freezing temperatures, Denver Public Works will deploy residential snow plows. A total of 126 light plows will be deployed on Denver residential streets (or side streets) tonight and will stay deployed until further notice.

During last year’s Super Bowl weekend enforcement period, 303 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the 3-day Heat Is On campaign.
