The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) is proud to announce the appointment of five new board members. New members are: Diego Hunt of Holland & Hart, Monique Lovato of Xcel Energy, Carlos Martinez of The Center, Theresa Peña of Denver Education Compact and Gary Poling of True North Capital Group.
“The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado is delighted to welcome these individuals to our board,” says Ronald Montoya, the LCFC’s board chair. “Our community is made stronger by the diversity of our leaders. I believe the leadership of the LCFC will continue to drive the organization forward in promoting Latino philanthropy in Colorado.”
The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado was launched in 2007, with the vision and support of Rose Community Foundation to increase philanthropy in the Latino community and to increase the capacity of Latino nonprofit organizations. In its first years of operations, 17 Latino donors, known as the LCFC Founders, individually pledged $25,000 over three years which was matched by national partner, Hispanics in Philanthropy. Since then, others have joined in the LCFC’s work of promoting Latino philanthropy. Since its inception, the LCFC has provided 60 grants totaling more than $875,000 to Latino-led and Latino-serving nonprofit organizations throughout Colorado.
Other board members of the LCFC include: Adrianna Abarca of Ready Foods; Raydean Acevedo of RMCI, Toti Cadavid of Senku Marketing and Luis Colon; Ariel Cisneros of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; Gloria Rubio-Cortes of the National Civic League; Susan Damour; and Ron Montoya of Innov8 Solutions.
