DENVER -- Featured acts, including Katherine Dines and the Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta Band; Betsy Tobin and The Now or Never Theater; Michael Friedman and Swingset Jazz; and Mike Walsh and The Old Town Puppet Theater, are set to appear at the 28th annual A Taste of Colorado on the KidzStage presented by MIX 100.  Children and adults can stay busy for hours with carnival rides, games, educational exhibits, and more.  The four-day, free admission, food, music, and entertainment festival will take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, in Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park.

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Kicks Off This Weekend

The 11th annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival is just around the corner, on Saturday and Sunday July 30-31. This year’s event will celebrate the country of Japan and the theme of “Gambare,” which means “to persevere.” The color red will be prominent throughout the festival as well as origami cranes, which symbolize, hope. There will also be a fundraiser to help contribute to the relief effort in Japan.

Bernstein artwork depicts aerial views of the City, mountains

Arts & Venues Denver proudly unveils two large-scale murals by Colorado artist Ken Bernstein at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at Denver’s Roslyn Administrative Building, 5440 N. Roslyn St., Building No. 5.

Bernstein, who has been a professional artist for more than 30 years, designed and created the two pieces for the Roslyn Building’s Events Center. Each mural is acrylic on canvas and measures approximately 25 feet long by 6 feet tall. The first mural represents the historical scene of the former Stapleton Airport – with the Front Range in the background; the second mural is a panoramic view of downtown Denver.

DENVER – Jazz-rock band Blood Sweat & Tears will take the Main Stage Sunday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the 28th annual A Taste of Colorado.  The concert is presented by KOOL 105.  The four-day, free admission, food, music, and entertainment festival will take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, in Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park.
